Chapter 4 – Day #1

Welcome Back.
Today we are using the COWS. Here are a few simple rules.
- The computers are to be used only on approved sites provided here on this blog.
- There is no eating or drinking around the computer.
- Have fun learning.
Today we will be introducing a NEW strategy to use with our reading. Please refer back to this list as needed.
- Read the title of the Section.
- Read the introduction or first paragraph, and the conclusion, or the last paragraph in the section.
- Review and study visual information: pictures, charts, graphs, diagrams, maps, cartoons, etc.
- Read everything in bold face or italic type.
- Read the assigned questions.
- Answer as many questions as possible based on the prereading information.
We will practice these steps with the following text. chapter-4-section-1-interactive-notes
Physical Science
The study guide will be completed for each chapter using the following format:
I. Formula Sheet – This includes any formulas or steps to solving formulas.
II. Language of the Standard – Key Terms – In your own words when possible.
III. Notes – Outline information, Important Concepts. Use the Holt textbook to supplement your notes.
IV. Problems – Answers the non multiple choice questions. You do not have to write. Write and answer the multiple questions.
Remember, this is your study guide. Make it meaningful for your study habits.

We will be creating a study for the Mid Term. We will be using the “Passing the EOCT in Physical Science” text. We will be covering the following Chapters: 1-3,5,7,9-11.
The study guide will be completed for each chapter using the following format:
I. Formula Sheet – This includes any formulas or steps to solving formulas.
II. Language of the Standard – Key Terms – In your own words when possible.
III. Notes - Outline information, Important Concepts. Use the Holt textbook to supplement your notes.
